Meet Jeremy Shane South
Jeremy Shane South is the founder of Legacy Landing Sober Living. He is a recovery advocate, President of the Association of Mississippi Peer Support Specialists (AMPSS), a board member of the National Sober Living Association (NSLA), and a student in the University of Mississippi’s Social Work Program.
Jeremy’s Story
There was a time in my life when addiction stripped away everything that mattered. I knew what it felt like to be broken and stuck, repeating the same cycle and becoming someone I didn’t recognize. It wasn’t just my life being destroyed—it was my future.
Recovery gave me something I never expected: another chance.
Through the grace of God, the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, and guidance from men who walked this path before me, I began rebuilding my life one day at a time. I learned that recovery is more than putting down drugs or alcohol—it’s becoming a man of integrity, accountability, purpose, and service.
Today, I have the privilege of working in the recovery field and helping individuals and families find hope and the support they deserve. I also serve as President of AMPSS, advocating for peer support across Mississippi, and I serve on the board of NSLA to help promote quality recovery housing. I’m currently enrolled in the University of Mississippi’s Social Work Program with long-term goals focused on substance abuse and child advocacy.
Legacy Landing was born from lived experience. I know how critical it is to have a safe place, brotherhood, and structure when life feels impossible. Legacy Landing exists because I believe every man deserves another chance to recover, rebuild, and step into a new purpose.
